At around 4.00pm emergency crews responded to reports of a woman who had fallen approximately 20 meters off a cliff face in Clovelly, NSW.
A fisherman rushed to assist the patient, however the fisherman happened to be a Fire & Rescue NSW Station officer based at Mascot.
The experienced fireman rendered first aid and kept the patient stable.
At around 3.30am, over 35 residents called 000 to report a house on fire on Knowles Ave, Bondi.
One nearby neighbour Sandy Lay, used a pot plant to smash a window to the property to help rescue the residents who were disorientated and trapped inside by the thick smoke.
The two residents escaped with the assistance of Sandy without injury, however their cat was found deceased inside their home.
Two students are in a serious condition with another five being treated in hospital after a near drowning incident.
At around 12.30pm two students who were wading at the ocean’s edge got into trouble after the surf pulled them into deeper waters.
Other students attempted to rescue them, however it’s believed they also got into trouble.
