Residents of Anzac Parade in Randwick and Maroubra were shocked when a freak Sydney storm spawned at around 7.45am.

It’s believed a very brief tornado with estimated wind speeds of around 135+ km/h, hit a number of structures causing significant damage.

One building had a wall collapse onto a neighbouring vehicle, smashing out the windows, whilst two more houses had their tiles ripped off.

A fourth building lost its top facade with bricks crashing down into the front yard. Residents were lucky to escape serious injury or death from the falling debris.
