A man nearly drowned in Coogee today, but was saved by two lifeguards, beachgoers and a doctor.
He was discovered floating face down in the water. Swimmer, Linda Drov was nearby and rushed to assist the man. She had difficulties pulling him to safety and called for help.
At around 11.45am Bondi Police responded to a loud explosion which shook surrounding buildings, including the police station.
Shoppers who were nearby at the time described the shockwave and sound as deafening as they scurried from the scene.
One shopper appeared unfazed whilst trying on clothing at Pluto's Body Wear, which was a neighbouring building to the explosion.
At around 4.00am police will allege that four teenagers ran from the scene of an accident on Wentworth Rd, Vaucluse.
Police will also allege that one of the males assaulted a sergeant during a foot pursuit.
The officer was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance and is understood to be in a stable condition.
The officer remains in hospital undergoing treatment for concussion.
