Jet Ski Rider Injured in accident at Brighton Le Sands

At around 10.45am emergency services were alerted to a collision between two jet ski riders in Brighton Le Sands.

One male suffered minor injuries, whilst another had significant head injuries.

The male was rescued by other beachgoers in nearby watercraft and taken to shore.

Ambulance Paramedics arrived on scene with police and began immediate treatment.

Specialist S.C.A.T Paramedics were mobilised and airlifted to the scene by helicopter.

Intensive care Paramedics secured the victim's airway by doing emergency surgery performing a Tracheotomy. The rescue operation took over an hour and the male was finally transported to St George Hospital by Police escort.

Investigators from the Marine Area Command are examining the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the crash to contact the Marine Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
