Police are searching for a driver of a white sedan after an alleged hit and run early this morning in North Bondi.

At around 1.20am two passengers travelling on a scooter were believed to be run down by a car at the intersection of Blair St and Military Rd.

A male driver sustained a dislocated hip and fractured pelvis whilst another female passenger was treated for suspected spinal injuries.

The road was closed to traffic whilst the specialist Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) collected evidence from the scene.

It’s understood that the offending “white sedan” stopped briefly without speaking to the injured people and fled the scene.

Police would like to speak to any witnesses to the incident and are appealing for the driver of the alleged offence to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Tech can solve & prevent these incidents

So much technology out there yet no government interest in implementing it. CCTV armed with infra red, gps tracking units on all vehicles not to mention speed limiters which a lot of hire car services tend to use along with cruise control should be implemented but it won't be as our government wouldn't spend the money on improving our roads. CCTV based call centres could easily make police jobs quicker & court cases less frightening. Better lighting around streets & lower speed signs & other tech should be used. Shame on the government for not doing an audit on roads & intersections to improve them. My ideas doubtless will be laughed at. We also have different speed breaking issues with P platers being limited to certain speeds, something else that is forgotten.
