![]() READ MORE TO VIEW GALLERY & VIDEO At around 2.45am, numerous triple zero calls were made to the fire service after a unit was found alight in Meagher St, Chippendale. Two residents suffered burns and were transported to hospital. Approximately 35 persons were evacuated from the buildings affected, including neighbouring properties. Ambulance Paramedics set up a triage area in the next street and assessed the residents one by one. Eight residents were treated, two transported and a police officer was also assessed for smoke inhalation. NSW Fire & Rescue searched the building and extinguished the fire. The unit has been destroyed by the fierce blaze Police believe that a cigarette was the cause of the blaze.
