![]() READ MORE TO VIEW GALLERY & VIDEO Today, there was an overwhelming amount of love and support for the late SCAT Paramedic “Mick Wilson”. From 8.30am hundreds of emergency service personnel descended upon St James Anglican Church in Phillip St, Sydney. Traffic was stopped and a guard of honour was formed. With two Ambulance motorcycles leading the way and flanked by his colleagues from the SCAT Paramedic team, the hearse carrying the body of “Michael Gordon Wilson” was driven up Phillip St slowly. One by one, each member of the guard of honour either saluted or put their hand on their heart. His coffin was carried into the church by his colleagues where he was married some 16 years ago to his wife Kellie Wilson. The formal church service commenced and his family and workmates paid their respect. So many people attended the service that hundreds watched from outside on television screens. With the service concluding, the guard of honour was re-formed and his family said goodbye for the last time whilst the rumbles could be felt from the Police and Ambulance helicopters passing over. Tourists and locals also paid their respects watching on from Martin Place as the final procession passed by. With the Commander finally dismissing the guard, all SCAT paramedics embraced and consoled one another. It was a fitting tribute to a loving father, husband and a Paramedic. A family appeal has been set up to support the family. You left this world too soon, but left behind three beautiful children who will no doubt follow in your footsteps.
