![]() READ MORE TO VIEW GALLERY & VIDEO Police and Ambulance Paramedics were called to Belmore Road, Randwick at around 12.30am this morning after reports of an alleged robbery. Two local residents making a trip to their local bank overheard and saw the attack of a 28-year-old male from across the road and yelled at the attackers. Police say that the actions of these good Samaritans were a contributing factor to stopping the vicious assault on the male. The attack was so brutal, it left the victim unconscious. It’s understood that the attackers were kicking the victim in the head whilst he was on the ground. Police established a crime scene and have collected evidence from the area. A 7cm knife, which had been found at the scene of the robbery may hold vital clues as to the identity of the alleged attackers. Pools of blood streamed down the footpath from the assault. Paramedics transported the victim to Prince of Wales Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for head injuries. The man’s wallet and phone were stolen during the incident. Police are appealing for any witnesses who haven’t already spoken with officers to come forward. Police are thankful for the efforts and assistance from the two locals who prevented what could have been a deadly attack. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
