Two women injured after Ferrari hits pedestrians in Lidcombe

Two women have been treated on scene and transported to hospital after an accident in The Boulevard at Lidcombe.

At around 9pm a man driving a black Ferrari crashed into a parked Toyota Vienta.

The vehicle continued to skid after hitting the red sedan before crashing into a brick wall.

Two females who were believed to have been standing near the red sedan suffered serious injuries due to the incident.

Paramedics treated the women on scene before taking them to hospital for suspected leg and spinal injuries.

The Police Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the accident.

Nearby streets were closed while the investigation took place.

This accident was only a couple hundred metres from my house.
I always see the Ferrari around my area, the guy lives even closer to me than where the accident was. I wouldn't say I've ever seen him speeding though, or giving it a thrash or anything. But if he was doing 50 like the speed zone is there then I doubt this much damage would have happened.

The driver of the Ferrari apparently said, "...it's not what you think", when confronted by the son of one of the injured women. Right. Excessive speed wasn't involved. People doing the speed limit or less, always lose control of their cars. Australia has a Vin Diesel/Fast Five mentality problem with younger men and cars. To make it worse, it has no real police force (or speed cameras) monitoring the situation between 6 or 7 p.m. and 9a.m. Isn't time to get serious about this problem and stop acting like one big Mayberry RFD township?
