Around 6:25pm a 50 year old female was seen falling off rocks near the southern end of Clovelly beach.

At 3.30pm a major gas main was ruptured next to the famous Bondi Hotel on Campbell Parade in Bondi.

Over 100 people were evacuated from nearby premises due to a serious threat of an explosion. The NSW Fire Brigade from Bondi and Randwick attended the scene to protect nearby properties and gas technicians during the delicate and dangerous operation.

Many evacuated residents, workers and tourists all watched in anticipation waiting for a large fireball to erupt. However, this explosion was prevented due to the outstanding work of the fire crews.

A NSW Police officer has been injured during a foot pursuit through the streets of Clovelly.

The officer sustained cuts to his hands and leg during the capture in Arden St at around 8.45pm.

The local patrol from the eastern beaches command noticed two suspicious males with a laptop and other items dumped nearby. After questioning the males, it's alleged one decided to evade the officers. A foot pursuit was initiated and the male was caught and arrested.
