NSW Fire Brigade, Police and Sydney Water responded to residents calls in relation to a large water main rupture on Brown Rd at Bonnyrigg overnight.

The burst occurred at around 2.30am, wasting tens of thousands of litres in water.

A few dreary eyed residents watched from the comfort of their homes, making sure they were not going to be flooded. However, the NSW Fire Brigade ensured all nearby drains were cleared and the water had a free run to prevent homes from being damaged.

As a storm travelled north early this evening, road conditions became dangerous.

Within fifteen minutes, three serious pedestrian vs vehicle accidents occurred.

The first incident involved an STA Bus in Oxford St, Bondi Junction where a male was run over. The victims legs sustained serious crush injuries when the rear wheels ran over his lower limbs. He was comforted by members of the community until emergency crews arrived. The Driver of the bus parked in the nearby depot and also assisted with the male's welfare.

Residents of Woniora Rd in South Hurstville arrived home to discover a torrent of water rushing down their suburban street.

The NSW Fire Brigade, Police and Local emergency management closed the road as there was a fear of a road collapse.

A number of Sydney water service vehicles attended the scene and began to close the nearby valves to stop the flood.
